"Training a meditator is like training a Nak Muay...
The teacher pulls his punches and doesn't hit any harder than the student can take, but the student gives it everything he's got."
-PRA AJAHN FUANG
Meditation is Often Misunderstood by those who have yet to Properly Grasp the Objectives and Began to Experience the Benefits.
There are many Varieties and Techniques of Meditation however the Method most often Recommended by the Buddha and many Enlightened Masters is known Mindfulness of Breathing.
Here the Practitioner Puts Forth Effort in Observing the In and Out Breath, Noticing the Minds Tendency to become Distracted and jump around like the Proverbial Monkey.
The Practice can be quite frustrating however Dedicated Practice lays a Foundation for a Balanced and Stalwart Heart and Mind.
In Life, Nothing is more important than the Ability to Access the Skills you have Developed while Under Duress.
In Combat Sports the One who has Mastered the Mind and Emotions has a Decisive Advantage and in Actual Combat this will be the Primary Factor Responsible for you Surviving Or Losing Your Life.
In Avery Aspect of Human Existence the Ability to Remain Calm and put things into Perspective with Sati (Mindfulness) and Panna (Wise Discernment) will Elevate the Practitioner above those who have Not Developed these Skills.
